Established in 2003 by Janelle Adrain, Process Safety Essentials has been a pioneering force in challenging businesses to effectively manage their major accident risk.
After being embedded within onsite operational teams as the process safety lead from 2018 to 2024, Janelle brings a fresh, innovate and pragmatic perspective to her work in managing critical risks.
Hello, I’m Janelle
I started my own consulting business when my children were young and I wanted more flexibility and control, and now it’s my Mum getting older. So, after nearly 7 years in onsite operational process safety, I’m back!
What I learnt when I was onsite was that process safety is done by people—engineers, operators, and leaders. You can have detailed bow tie risk assessments, exceptional critical control verifications, and every change stepping through your rigorous MOC workflow—but to make it all work, you need people on the ground doing their day-to-day work with a process safety mindset.
This time around, I want to support as many of you as possible to achieve the step-change in process safety that I witnessed when I was working onsite in operations.
